Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park, located in the Virunga Mountains of northwestern Rwanda, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic conservation areas in Africa. Covering an area of approximately 160 square kilometres, the park is renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas, which inhabit the lush volcanic slopes.
Gorilla trekking is the main attraction in Volcanoes National Park, offering visitors the rare opportunity to encounter these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. Guided by experienced trackers, visitors go for immersive hikes through dense bamboo forests, ascending the slopes of the volcanoes to observe gorilla families as they go about their daily lives.
