Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park, situated in eastern Rwanda along the border with Tanzania, is a diverse and scenic protected area covering approximately 1,200 square kilometres. Named after the Akagera River that flows through the park, Akagera is Rwanda's only savannah park and offers a unique contrast to the country's mountainous landscapes.
The park is characterized by rolling hills, savannah plains, swamps, and lakes, providing habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. Visitors to Akagera National Park can go for game drives to spot animals such as elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and hippos.
