Mount Elgon
Mount Elgon, located on the border between Uganda and Kenya, is an ancient extinct volcano and one of the highest peaks in East Africa. Rising to an elevation of 4,321 meters, Mount Elgon is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse ecosystems, and rich cultural heritage.
The mountain's slopes are characterized by lush montane forests, bamboo groves, and alpine meadows, providing a habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mount Elgon is home to numerous endemic plant species, as well as a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, monkeys, and various bird species.
