After breakfast, explore the lush Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Expect sightings like Ross’s Turaco, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Black-and-white Casqued Hornbill, Orange Weaver, and Splendid Glossy Starling.

After lunch, head to Mabamba Swamp, a renowned Ramsar wetland on Lake Victoria, via canoe to search for the iconic Shoebill Stork and other water birds like African Jacana, Lesser Jacana, Purple Swamphen, and African Pygmy Goose.

Travel to the majestic Budongo Forest, part of the greater Murchison Falls Conservation Area. On arrival, enjoy evening birding for forest species such as White-crested Turaco, African Wood Owl, and Bat Hawk.

Start with morning chimpanzee tracking in Budongo, then transfer to Kibale Forest, home to 13 primate species and over 370 bird species. Day 6 is dedicated to exploring Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where species such as Great Blue Turaco, Scaly-throated Honeyguide, and Black-faced Rufous Warbler await.

Head west to Semuliki National Park, one of Uganda’s richest birding areas and home to Central African species like Lyre-tailed Honeyguide, African Piculet, Yellow-throated Cuckoo, and White-bellied Kingfisher.

Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse birding destination with over 600 species. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, where African Skimmers, Goliath Herons, Great White Pelicans, and other waterfowl congregate.

Begin your day with a savannah birding drive in Kasenyi Plains, looking out for Martial Eagle, Temminck’s Courser, and Ruppell’s Griffon Vulture. Later, drive through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions, en route to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Rise early for a full day of birding in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi. Expect forest jewels like Red-throated Alethe, Black Bee-eater, Equatorial Akalat, and Montane Oriole. Listen for melodious calls from the Snowy-capped Robin-Chat and Dusky Twinspot.

Transfer to Ruhija, a hotspot for Albertine Rift endemics. Spend two days birding the Mubwindi Swamp trail, descending through bamboo zones and misty montane forests. Search for African Green Broadbill, Grauer’s Warbler, Shelley’s Crimsonwing, and Rwenzori Batis.

Spend your final birding day exploring the open woodlands and wetlands of Lake Mburo. Look for the Brown-chested Lapwing, Lilac-breasted Roller, African Finfoot, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, and numerous acacia-associated species. Optional boat ride or game drive in the park.

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, with birding en route. You’ll be dropped at Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight, marking the end of your unforgettable birding journey in Uganda.
