Lake Mburo National Park – A Compact Gem in Uganda’s Wild Heart

Lake Mburo is the best place in Uganda to see large herds of impala and Burchell’s zebra, as well as eland, topi, buffalo, and hippos along the lake shore. Birders are in for a treat too—over 350 species have been recorded here, including the rare African finfoot.

Game drives, boat cruises, guided walking safaris, and horseback rides offer different ways to experience the park’s landscapes. Without the presence of lions, Lake Mburo is one of the safest parks for walking safaris, allowing for close encounters with wildlife in a serene setting.
